Resistance Welding Fixtures

Tooling for resistance welding

Mechanical tools matched to part geometry and the welding machine

We manufacture mechanical tooling for spot, projection, seam and butt resistance welding. The scope includes frames, datums, locating elements, clamps and interfaces to customer or integrator documentation.

Process types

Tooling for different resistance welding methods

01

Spot welding

Part location, electrode access and mechanical clamping to the process documentation.

02

Projection welding

Positioning and support at locations defined by the component design.

03

Seam welding

Guidance and stabilisation of the component along the required weld line.

04

Butt welding

Mechanical alignment of axes, ends and clamping points to machine data.

Mechanical scope

From the base frame to the complete assembled tool

We manufacture and assemble the mechanical fixture components while maintaining the specified equipment interfaces and part geometry.

  • frames, base plates and supporting structures
  • locating elements, supports and stops
  • mechanical clamps and change modules
  • precision machining of surfaces and holes
  • assembly, adjustment and dimensional inspection
  • coating, transport and commissioning support

Interface data

Documentation required for correct manufacture

Part model, tolerances, datums and surfaces to be welded
Equipment interface dimensions, movements, stroke, electrode space and collision zones
Clamping clamp type, forces and sequence defined by the customer or integrator
Acceptance inspection points, required report and trial commissioning method

Standard scope

Mechanical tooling without complete controls integration

Pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, PLC controls and machine safety are not part of Fritech's standard scope. Requirements in these areas must be supplied by the customer or integrator and agreed separately.
